I loved (and related) to Nick’s way of thinking. Sometimes there’s just too many things you want to say at the same time and your brain just can’t handle that.
I’m not the hugest fan of superhero stories, but this was one was just the right amount of unserious for me to enjoy it. I had faith in Klune, and he delivered.
Moderate: Drug abuse, Drug use, Panic attacks/disorders, Violence, and Death of parent
Minor: Death, Blood, and Car accident

This book is a great palate cleanser without being meaningless fluff; there was still a solid story with character development of primary and secondary characters alike, realistic behaviors in unrealistic situations, and worthwhile conflicts.
I will say that Nick's stupidity is both endearing and absolutely obnoxious. Especially when it causes certain plot points to carry on too long for my liking. Though, it's done in a way that makes sense for the character, so it doesn't feel unnecessary.

What I loved is while this book leans into many of the superhero tropes we’ve come to expect in the age of MCUs and a resurgence of popularity in graphic novels, this book explored queerness and neurodivergence in relation to those tropes and made it a really fruitful, twisty reading experience. I have friends who have ADHD and some of their experiences that they have shared were identical to the MC. I imagine he’ll bring comfort to so many readers. Ugh. Just exquisite.
