This book is about a kid named, Lu and he likes to do races track, but he ends up finding something out about his dad that he doesn't know if he can forgive. I like this book because the characters are really accurate and realistic in terms of how they interact. I also like that the actions of characters influence other characters into doing different things.  I feel like I can relate to some of the characters and a lot of the decisions they make because they act in response to what happens to them and others. I wish the book had more action because the only action you really get in this book is when Lu is in races, although there is some drama. If you like plot twists and suspense, I think you would enjoy this book.

Mit diesem Band schliesst die Reihe ab und auch wenn ich anfangs dachte, dass dieser Band den anderen etwas hinterherhinkt, so musste ich meine Meinung bald revidieren. Lu brauchte einfach ein wenig mehr Zeit.

Für mich ist es ein gut gemachtes Ende, rund, abgeschlossen. Damit kann ich gut leben. Ich werde die Defenders in guter Erinnerung behalten. Auch wenn ich es natürlich ein wenig schade finde, dass unsere gemeinsame Reise nun zu Ende ist.

Aber Reynolds hat noch einmal gezeigt, dass er richtig gute Jugendbücher schreiben kann, mit Figuren, die lebensecht und lebensnah sind. Glaubhaft. Man kann ihre Handlungen nachvollziehen. Auch jene, die nicht gut enden werden. Genau das macht diese Reihe so wertvoll.

Wahrscheinlich werde ich die nächste Zeit damit beschäftigt sein, mir vorzustellen, was aus all den liebgewonnenen Helden wird, wenn sie mal erwachsen sind. Etwas Grosses, da bin ich mir sicher.

An excellent end to this series by a fantastic author. I have loved each book, but this is the best as it pulls everything together. I'm glad I saved these on my pile and made them last.
