A very accessible and poignant autobiography with references to back up his claims and personal observations.
This would be great as an audiobook (I read as a regular book and was imagining his voice throughout). It is heartbreaking to see how earth has changed since Sir David was young, but it ends hopeful for the future and explaining how we can reach this goal with the help of technology and adapting cities. I wish it had said more about what people specifically can do to make these changes happen, as it spoke more from a systemic level of making areas more green - which I don’t know how to start doing beyond my garden!

The most important book I've ever read.
It was challenging at times to accept the truths of human impact, but it's imperative people pay attention to these things so we can change. And the book points out many proven examples and possibilities of change that we all should fight for, especially those with power. In my opinion this is an essential read. Attenborough is an experienced naturalist and trustworthy source. He's an amazing human being.

On the audiobook version:
David Attenborough is one of the most iconic narrators of all time, and so his audiobook reading was as eloquent as expected. Listening to it felt like watching one of his documentaries.

What a fantastic listen. Attenborough has a wonderful way with words that’s definitely added to by his voice in the audiobook. I appreciate that he doesn’t hold any punches with what will happen if we don’t change our behaviour but also provides lots of examples of how we can move in the right direction. Super interesting!
