Filled with stunning, eye-opening metaphors that might change the way you normally look at the relationship between love and lust, as well as what one does to adjust to their surroundings and first-time experiences.

I somewhat enjoyed reading this; however, as a woman, I sometimes felt that some parts of the book were very obviously written by a man, which interrupted the flow of reading at times and made women seem unnecessarily shallow or silly. It was a little uncomfortable, and not in the way where it makes you go out of your comfort zone, but more in a way that makes you cringe for the sentence you are reading. Nonetheless, the tale does offer some profound insights on love and being loved and takes a non-traditional approach to modern fairy tales.
Ralf and Maria's relationship only seems partly convincing. Especially towards the end there is a scene that really makes you wonder whether Ralf really cares that much about Maria and whether she really learned so much.
