This book is no 3 on the series and after reading two books I was super excited to read about the rebel twin
And
.
It was okay. Yes just okay. I don't know how to describe except that it was a good written story but it lacked the extra star factor as the previous books!!!
There was certain aspects in the story that I did not like but H made up for it.
This book review was purely on my reading experience and not reviewing how the author wrote or the story flow, because those two are perfect and I will still look forward to more works from this author.
.
If you are looking for a forbidden romance, with a sassy h, this will definitely entertain you.
Arc provided for honest review.

The Rebel is the third book in the Rosewood High series. This book features Tessa and Asher. Tessa is Delaney's twin sister, and she is the focus of the second book. So we met Tessa before, and see characters from the first two books often in this book. This book is told from duel points of view which is my favorite writing style.
Tessa meets Asher at a bar. She is 18, but using a fake id. They have a steamy one night stand. A few weeks later she sees him again when she's going to English at school as he is her new English teacher. Asher did not want to be a teacher to a bunch of stuck up kids. He got in injury in football and is upset about his career ending so suddenly. Tessa is going through some of her own battles. Her uncle kidnapped her and his friends abused her to get to her sister and her sister's boyfriend. Her sister graduated, but Tessa had to repeat Senior year. So she's having a hard time with her sister not being there when she needs her, and her father isn't there for her either even though they live together.
Asher and Tessa start to see each other in hiding. Things come out between the two of them. Can they work through it together? Or will it tear them apart? I loved this book, and I'm a huge fan of this author. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
** I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Tessa and Asher. I love forbidden relationships. I haven’t read the other stories yet, but I fell in love with these characters. I love how Asher was all alpha. Tessa was trying so hard to fight her trauma. I absolutely loved this quote “This girl is a storm—a tornado ready to wreak havoc on anything in the path—and I’m addicted to her chaos.”

What Tessa has been through just broke my heart; but I admire and respect her her strength and the way she dealt with everything and how she was able to pull out other side with a much better outlook, with the support of her friends and family, she achieved what she thought was the impossible and it was so awesome to be apart of her growing journey. Tessa’s story might just be my fave so far out of the Haven Grace Prep gang. Because it made me cry and just because I love Kelsey’s writing 5 stars from me

Best of the series.
I don't like teacher/student romances, I think they are pretty disturbing generally and not something that should be glorified. I read this because i had read the rest of the series, and I am so glad I did.
This book had so much more going on, than just the "forbidden" romance aspect. You could remove this feature and it would still be amazing. The details of being student/teacher is almost irrelevant to the plot. This is just about 2 people who meet, sparks fly and then they have to get over their own insecurities while dealing with what other people throw at them.
Tessa is such a complex character, there is so much more beneath the surface than we have seen in the previous books. Shes been through some traumatic experiences and they have fundamentally changed her. She is not the carefree wild child she makes out to be.
Asher, her love interest is a pro football player who just happens to need to become a temporary teacher so he can coach football during his injury time. I know, random, but like I said you can pretty much ignore this whole aspect. Asher as a character though is incredibly likeable, hes alpha and can be the stereotypical jealous guy, but it just works. He puts Tessa above all else, not on a pedestal type of way, more that he puts her well being first.
We are also introduced to a new character Hendrix, Ashers womanizer best friend. He is hilarious, and later has his own stand alone book, he also features heavily in The Enemy (Lennons book)
This book is an emotional read, and I highly recommend it. It can be read as a stand alone, but it does reference back to a major incident in The Saint. However more detail is given here and we find out of the things that happened in the background from Tessa's perspective.
