Plot and characters where amazing! I loved seeing both zee and stevies mental growth throughout the book.
Towards the end it felt a bit messy? There was quite a lot of unnecessary drama too.
Overall it was a good book. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Enemies to lovers, forbidden love, and hockey romance made for a good, easy read, but I felt things dragging on the whole book, it could have been way shorter, the third-act breakup was reaching, and it was kind of cringey. Read it because I hear the sequel is great so fingers crossed it’s worth it!

What’s not to love? Rescue dogs, professional hockey, real body types, and great sex.

I swear if I read "chestnut curls" one more time. I have lost count, it's almost like every single chapter will say "chestnut curls" and a comment about her weight being bigger than a size two. It's getting overly repetitive. I got the FMC description, it's in my head... let's move on. I love the inclusivity the author is trying to do right now, but it's getting a tad bit overkill. Also, the "are you following me" was cute for a while, but again - it's getting a bit repetitive and it's not packing the cutesy punch I think it should be at this point. (Written at 54%)

Updated after finishing -
I would say that the last 50ish percent was better. It wasn’t a mind blowing book for me, but I did enjoy it.
I loved the mental health aspects.
I loved the family dynamics that are so rarely talked about.
Did I mention that I loved that the male character was open about mental health?
It had a lot of factors I did like, I just found certain aspects in the writing a bit monotonous.

Regardless, a good hockey romance and I do see why so many people love it.
