This book started out horribly, I was seriously considering to stop reading it. But the middle part got me quite excited. I wouldn't recommend this book, but not all of it was bad. Just one thing: the main character must be the worst best friend ever

I read this book sooooo long ago, but I still remember it being amazing, hence the 5 star rating.

I would class this as one of my favorites because it had a bit of everything. Sophie is an interesting character and I loved her development through the novel as she discovered who she was, and the power she had. Brody was also awesome. I know that whole mysterious bad boy thing in YA novels is played out and overdone, but I loved him. He was equally mysterious and funny. And the romance that developed was just amazing.

Now I must go and see if there was ever a second book made...

Ok I had mixed feeling about this book. I did I like? Yes and No. Why?At times it was fascinating and I couldn't wait to find out what was happening then I would be bored and couldn't wait for it to be finished (and not it the good way). It was too long and while there is an interesting story arc there was too much filler and things that didn't need to happen which detracted from my overall enjoyment. Also that damn ending really annoyed me given how much time I had invested in reading the story. I mean you expect the main story arc to lead up to a final battle and some resolution but instead after a massively long (and often unnecessary) series of events it ends abruptly in the middle of that battle with no resolution.

I love reading books set in Australia and I loved the Australian high school setting as it was a very realistic representation of the Australian high school experience (at least the way I remember it). I liked how the popular characters weren't portrayed as 'evil'. Yes they have flaws and are not necessarily that nice but they were more than that as you get to see from Sophie's individual interactions with many of them.
I like Brody & Sophie together but there is not really enough time spent on there romance(particularly given the amount of time spent on everything else).

I really liked this book because of the whole Brody thing. I liked him before i even started the book. I also think witches are really interesting and i havn't really read many books where they're the main thing. But seriously, Brody Meine is AWESOME! Didn't really like the ending but it was rally awesome and it kept me interested :D
