This was such a charming story. I loved Shay and Dominic's dynamic. I loved that the story was based around public radio. I loved that so many tough topics were discussed. Having a background in radio, this book accurately showed the reader how a station operates!!
This story was well-written. I had a clear understanding of the characters' lives and relationships. I liked the MC Shay, who's also the narrator. I found her to be witty and entertaining. Grief, loss, and love were topics in this book, and they were beautifully talked about.
The Ex Talk moved slow for me at the beginning. I actually put it down and came back to it after reading something else. And I'm so glad I went back to reading this! Don't get me wrong-- the beginning was still great and it set up what was to come, I just wish it was as entertaining as the bulk of the book.
Overall, wonderful story. I would recommend this if you're looking for a fun coworkers to lovers romance. Also if you're looking for a book with a non-traditional setting of a radio station, this one's great! There is a bit of spice, but it's not out of place. The story also wasn't cringey, so if you're looking for only a sprinkling of cheese, try this one.

3.75 stars. This was a fun Millennial rom-com. That said, I really wish we would have gotten Dominic's point of view. The back and forth between them as things happen would have made this book a lot better.

This was super cute and fun!! I found it cute, delightful (it made me smile so many times), and in many moments, Shay was very relatable. Some of the banter felt kinda flat and forced (kinda like the "scripted" radio show portions - in that instance it made sense, but in the non-radio portions, some of it still came off a bit stilted and scripted instead of more natural).

It was still fun and a bit steamy, and a solid addition to my current fav trope of enemies to lovers. 👌

(Also, probably *solely* because it featured radio shows and hosts in Seattle, it made me think a lot about Frasier - tho that is basically the only things the two have in common, lol, it still somehow made me get some nostalgic vibes/Frasier vibes, which I quite liked too.)

Another great romance by Rachel Lynn Solomon! I just love the way her characters are so real, with their ups & downs & baggage & self-doubt, but are always able to find love.

3.75 ⭐️ I really enjoyed the premise of this story and how unconventional Shay and Dominic’s story is portrayed.

Shay and Dominic have an extraordinarily random plot line of enemies to fake lovers to real secret lovers to public exposure and back together again.
