A clique, but funny, light hearted feel-good read. A very enjoyable novel, that has an easy feel to it.

Such mixed thoughts on this one. Perhaps I'm just over the "enemies to lovers" trope, but I didn't really believe why Shay would feel such animosity towards Dominic (like, why is she so annoyed by his leaning, of all things?). But as their friendship developed, I enjoyed the story more. I liked that Shay started to question whether her current path in life was really right for her and worked to stand up for herself more. All in all, a solid, fun read.

I enjoyed, but did not love, this book. The classic "enemies-to-lovers" trope that is, apparently, in fashion now... very cliche.

The story is nice, they are a very cute couple, I really enjoyed their relationship and was rooting for them. But at the same time she is really annoying with that "age difference" thing -  it's 5 years, not 50! Calm down! He is not annoying, but is described like every other man in a romance: tall, strong, hot, and even though is sexually inexperienced off course that he was the full Kama Sutra mastered! Ok, he is honest and really, really, likes her which makes him very desirable and redeems his other characteristics.

My favorite couple was, obviously, her mother and the new husband. Their stories of loss broke my heart. I would read a full book just telling their stories.

This was an unexpectedly delightful book. Shay and Dominic were delightfully flirty and fun with each other. I loved their banter and their enemies to lovers build up. The age gap wasn't weird but it was enough that they were able to make jokes about being part of different generations (5/6 years apart).

Shay's character development in relation to her career and how it ties to her grief over her father and her relationships to people in her life was really well done. As someone who is chronically sad about not having strong connections with friends this book was a big fuckign SCHMOOD.

I loved the podcast transcripts as well. It made for a really fun and immersive reading experience.
