Well that was a fun, fascinating and very enlightening read. It’s such a readable book, often times I’d hesitate to put it down at all. The glimpse into the crazy rich populations and traditions of these families in Singapore was a trip to read. Rachel Chu walks into the lions den without any clue until it’s too late. And her boyfriend, the heir to a massive fortune, has no idea he’d grown up in that lions den.

All the other characters that make up Nick and Rachel’s world were so interesting and crazy. I especially enjoyed reading about Astrid, she was one of a kind.

I loved it and I will definitely read the next.

When I finished the last page I got genuinely upset because of how invested I was in Rachel and Nick’s relationship and UGH CLIFFHANGERS ARE THE WORST.

Crazy Rich Asians is a story about Nick, a man who comes from a CRAZY rich family (we’re talking beyond our wildest dreams rich), and Rachel, his down to earth Chinese-American girlfriend. Nick brings Rachel home to Singapore to meet his family and to attend his best friend’s wedding (he fails to mention to Rachel that it’s the event of the year and cost millions upon millions of dollars). All chaos ensues as his family (and other jealous families who want their daughters with Nick) tries to break up their relationship.

I started this book and honestly was not very invested. There were so many families and people and storylines and insane descriptions of jewelry and clothes and overall opulence, all of which made my head spin. I felt that the first half didn’t explore the relationship between Rachel and Nick enough, which also made me lose interest. And Nick, bless his heart, was clueless as to what Rachel was going through....like dude do you NOT know your family??

But then, drama ensued. Nick’s family went way too far (and believe me that’s saying something since everything they do is too far). And Nick might not be the man Rachel needed him to be. And THEN the real look into their relationship unfurled.

I didn’t love this book until the halfway point, maybe even a bit after. But the last part packed SUCH a punch that I’m about to order the next two in the series. I NEED TO KNOW what happens to Rachel and Nick (yes I realize that a sequel implies relational bliss but let me have this). I love them together. Like, so much. Perfect when paired with your most extravagant costume jewelry that would get you harshly judged in a lavish party in Singapore. 4.1 ⭐️

Hacía mucho que no me enganchaba tanto a un libro, incluso me he quedado hasta las tantas de la madrugada leyendo. Sin duda leeré la segunda parte.
