A delightful collection of three short stories featuring the iconic Enola Holmes! The mysteries themselves were just okay and not particularly mind-blowing, though I did like the last one more. The occasionally abrupt story flow is saved by the spunky, show-stealing heroine. I loved her many disguises and costumes. There were also some fun ciphers and I enjoyed learning about language of flowers. The artwork was magical and vibrant, which made the Victorian London setting feel so real.

This graphic novel was a light and fun read overall, but don't be fooled. It also highlights many important social issues and themes such as conformity, societal norms, gender stereotypes, women's suffrage, the poverty gap etc. One part that stuck with me was how a character was institutionalized for dressing like a man.

I can't wait for the next book and see where this family drama goes!

Do I like Enola more than Sherlock? Is that even possible?

I first discovered Enola during the Netflix series and these graphic novels just provide more fun and more things to love about Enola.

If you’re looking for a fun graphic novel with a strong female heroine, these fit the bill!

I absolutely loved this graphic novel! There were 3 separate cases told in this book, with The Case of the Missing Marquess being a part of the Netflix movie. My Enola Holmes experience is limited to the movie and reading Enola Holmes and the Black Brouche. It's easy to be transported into Enola's world no matter how much you have read or seen.
This graphic novel does start at the beginning where Enola's mom disappears. Each separate part packs the entire case into a small amount of pages, but the whole thing is there. A lot of the time I feel like graphic novels lose a lot being (usually) short and not having a lot of words, but this one really did a great job of having the whole story in all 3 cases.
I absolutely loved the art style. It was beautiful. It was almost like a watercolor, especially in the backgrounds. There were also Enola's notebook pages in between the cases which I found really cool. It kind of showed pictures and Enola's notes and newspaper clippings and I thought that was a really interactive addition to the book.
I'm really excited to continue reading the Enola Holmes novels and I can't wait for another graphic novel addition!

Perfect for fans of the film on Netflix this graphic novel adaptation of the Enola Holmes stories is sure to be enjoyed by readers aged 9+ particularly those who enjoy mystery and adventure stories with strong female protagonists and a dash of humour. This collection includes the first three stories in the series, each of which is a highly enjoyable read in it's own right. I especially liked the illustration style used throughout and can see this being a great springboard for developing readers into the broader genre of mystery/detective novels.

Thank you Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this advance copy of Enola Holmes.

I first heard about Enola Holmes from the Netflix movie that was released and then the novel that came out that explored her next adventure/mystery. This graphic novel was enjoyable and gave a whimsical story lines and Enola's first 3 mysteries as she goes on the search for her missing mother. I liked how each case reflected a different side of Enola, from her witty nature to revealing that she's also scared of the possibility that she may never see her mother again.

The artwork is beautiful and gives just enough detail for the characters to pop out from the page. Even the mysteries and other characters Enola meets along her journey are intriguing and a bit peculiar; an extremely fun ride for young teens.
