2.5 stars.

I'm glad I was encouraged to push through and finish, as otherwise I would have missed some genuinely sweet moments. It wasn't that I doubted the story's trajectory: there would be catharsis, revelation, redemption, and likely adorable satisfaction. We, the patient, optimistic readers would be invited to goggle at the wacky one-upmanship while still nursing our investment in the promising romantic subtext.

More readers I know have taken great delight in this book than not, and I get it. I do. In my experience, though, the mean-spiritedness of the sniping and pranks, especially when directed toward a romantic partner, undercuts the entertainment value. Simply not for me.

A pleasant surprise. I didn't thought I would like this book that much.
Such a great rom-com, It would make a cool movie.

I’ve been thinking about why I didn’t give this book 5 stars ever since I finished it and I honestly can’t find a good enough reason!

Not for me.

Really couldn't stand the characters. Felt contrived. There was really no reason she had to stay in the marriage (didn't buy into the stakes). So not buying the premise did not set me up for success. The end third kinda saved it, but just really not my cup of tea.
