I normally love Amelia Bedelia books, and read this one to my four year old charge as a way to introduce him to the series. But for some reason this one was just overly repetitive. It might have been the presence of Amelia's niece. The two of them shared some very stilted dialogue that made the book less enjoyable. There is no rule that says the dialogue in a child's book has to be choppy, but it seems to be a trend in the older books.
I will be bringing more Amelia Bedelia books for the boys, but I don't think this one will be making a repeat appearance.

Hmm…yes I did read this book. I was bored so I picked out something random from a bin of books next to me and it happened to be this one. The only reason I rated it 3 stars is because Amelia is a little bit clueless so it was funny to watch her make mistakes.

The writing isn’t great. The grammar could be better.
But it’s a book that is constructed on puns so it’s amusing.
My son hasn’t gotten tired of it, and neither have I, so it gets a high mark.
