A solid book if you want to dip your toes into darker romances. This features your typical happy girl with a tragic past coupled with her savior disguised as a contract killer.

This book is heavy on the insta love. It’s a little nauseating, they couldn’t even pretend to bicker more than a day before their inner monologue was completely taken over by how perfect the other person was.

I thought the plot and characters were a bit one dimensional, with very little substance beyond their couple quirks to show they’re real people (like the main character only liking green laffy taffy) (we all know yellow is the best). I also thought it was way to long.

I’m not planning to continue the series, but if grumpy/sunshine is your jam I could see where you might find this series worth it!

Spice level: 3.5/5
Trigger warnings:
Mention of death of a parental figure
On page violence
Stalking and Harassment

Spoiler ahead

There’s an epilogue pregnancy. You’re welcome!
