the best out of all the no. 6 volumes i’ve read so far. this one had me shook to my very bones, the horror the violence, the way the author makes you think about horrific real life situations and the cruelty of mankind. i’m obsessed with how often moral dilemmas are brought up and how we are reminded that the people doing such terrible acts are all human beings too… such a wildly insane book.
still crying at what shion had to go through in this volume oh my poor darling :( i do love reading about loss of innocence tho and this was written so tragically fucked uply well.

Again not sure how I feel about the developments in this one. By this volume the "Shion felt sorry that he had lived a privileged pampered life. He was ashamed to be a burden" and "Nezumi was disgusted by Shion's naivety and ideas that it could all be better. He would protect him but he also couldn't stand what a baby he was. He wanted revenge" schtick is veryyyy repetitive. The scifi developments get less and less serious as it goes on but I'm willing to stick it out because I do really enjoy the concept itself. Writing is of the same quality and the characters are just as charming.

I've wandered and gotten lost in an endless forest. I'm drifting, a tangle of throbbing pain and dreamy ecstasy.

The emotional turmoil that I felt was VISCERAL.

Great! This novel is much more rough and sad than the others, but it makes you think about many things. If you don't feel touched reading this you are a tough person. Marvelous!

La parte de las lágrimas de Nezumi y cuando le dice a Shion que hizo las cosas protegerlo. Iconic moment.
