Messing up the chronology of these books I almost went straight past this one to Blood of Elves; I'm so glad I went back to read this first. Some of the best storytelling I've ever read. My only qualm with Andrzej's work is the over-sexualisation of every female character; it seems like we need to hear the breast-to-waist ratio of every woman Geralt comes across. However, if you move past that you see some exceptional characterisation that leaves these sexualised descriptions as little more than a trope of the genre and a cheeky wink to the reader. From Calanthe, to Little Eye and of course Yennefer, Sapkowski shows that he can write women just as well as he can write Geralt.
Each story was a treasure, and the ending of "Something More"... if that didn't hit you right in the feels then you're as emotionless as people believe Geralt to be.

The last two short stories were really good! Other than that I just felt a little bored.

I’m enjoying this series so far, but I feel like I would be a little confused with 0.5 and 0.7 if I hadn’t watched the show
