3.5 stars rounded up. I still very much enjoyed the actual written novel significantly more, but this adaptation wasn't terrible.

A fine graphic novel. I think it missed a little too much of the original story and I didn’t love the art, but it was fine.

Still an exciting entry into this world, but with much less introspection and Hinds' gorgeous art. Cutting out a lot of Katsa's internal struggle makes the plot go by at a fast clip, but with less stakes. Not sure how this will read for someone who hasn't had read the original or has read other books set in the world - maybe more engaging, maybe less?
