I suppose I trudged through this for a new perspective. I've never read something like this before. The first book is more reverse harem and this sequel is a poly. I believe in OTPs, not necessarily have to be just one for a lifetime but one after the next kind. As an introvert, loving more than one is a nightmare, and that is what this is. Yes, the writing cleverly smoothens this kind of trope, but if you think about it, this will never happen in real life, not a HEA in the present and definitely not in that era. This is just pure fantasy, honestly.

All in all, George grew on me in this book, and the children will be HELLA confused! Now, I feel like I want a mystery/psychological book where a daughter uncovers her parents' bizarre relationships.

First of allโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จโ€ฆTalk about upping the ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ!

Second of all, I know there are 4 MCs in this book, but to me, elder brother George was my personal MVP in this book. He was hilarious, he was here for Rosalie, his brother, and all these men, frankly. And he is unashamedly himself. So, hereโ€™s to George! ๐Ÿป

After the slow burn in ๐˜‰๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ถ๐˜ญ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ด, this book turned it up more than a notch, and we got just about every *scene* you could imagine between 3 dudes and a lady.ย

I loved watching the two men who had already proclaimed their love for Rosalie, grovel, and then proclaim their love for each other. But the real emotional backbone of this story was James, and his ability to move past his obligations, and find happiness for himself.ย

Also, what a sweet epilogue. ๐Ÿฅฐ Iโ€™m definitely planning to pick up book 3, ๐˜ˆ๐˜ญ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ต ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ญ, soon, and interested to see if we get a tiny peek of this Quad from an outsiderโ€™s prospective. Plus, the promised tropes look ๐Ÿฅตโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜‚

What this book is giving:
โœ… Historical RH Romanceย
โœ… MMMF
โœ… Multi POV
โœ… Friends to Lovers
โœ… Everybody loves everybody
โœ… Opera Boxย

This book was enjoyable but seemed to drag on pacing wise more than the first book. James was basically just ticking me off the entire book and Iโ€™m not sure why he gets placed on a pedestal so much. I donโ€™t care for my why choose poly books for one person to seem โ€œaboveโ€ the others. The spice was great. I LOVED the drama that was exciting with all the extra side characters and the violent attack that occurred. I do like how the story wrapped up and ended though and it was still enjoyable and a fun read mostly! Also I was obsessed with the dukes role in this book and his friendship with Rosalie.

I just love Emilyโ€™s writing! The spice got really turned up in this one, so if the first wasnโ€™t for you, then this definitely wonโ€™t be. Burke is my fav!

I really freaking enjoyed this duology. I liked the gradual growth in their relationships. The slow burn was awesome in book one and then this one they were hot and heavy and secretive and some bi-awakenings that were very well done. I loved Rose and Georgeโ€™s friendship. That shit was so fucking cute. I did not see Marianne being the big problem in this book and she was which is crazy. I in all of Emily Raths writing you can feel the love her characters have for one another, and it feels so organic and so real. James, his character was a bit finicky about Rose, but it was perfectly written like it was heartbreaking and soul, wrenching, and then it was just full joy.

Wow! I read this duet after reading the pucking around series, and I can't believe I am saying this, but I loved this more than pucking around. This story and the character development were incredible, with this foursome finally opening up and letting each other in, but the real kicker is this plot and added tension of this being extremely taboo relationship . You have the threat of death and dishonor if anyone finds out, you have duty and the honor of titles, nosey housekeepers, passed lovers, and then also the main characters trying to wrap their head around their emotions. I fell in love with all of these men and Rosalie. I understood how true polyamory felt the way Rosalie was feeling withย  each man and then watched their relationship as well go further. James really stuck to his guns and was infuriating, but the tallest building can still fall.ย  I can not recommend this book enough it was perfection. Emily wrath the magic you possess in these books is out of this world.
