A talented physicist who discovers how to become invisible, but either too stupid or lonely that he has to tell his old friend every single thing abt himself, only to be betrayed (well who would want to follow a craZy, blood-thirst invisible man anyway) and meet his downfall due to his shortsightedness and hot temper.

I gave it 3 stars as the main char is quite hilarious and this novel is much better than the invisible life of AL. At least something did happen here and he has quite an adventure (even if it is short). I do remember her hardship at the beginning of the curse, but still, i like Griffin more (if i ever have to choose)

Other characters in this novel (except Kempt) are quite annoying and comedic. The 2nd half after G leaves Iping is much more engaging, even though he is oversharing and it leads to his downfall. But who am I to blame, at least it makes this book more enjoyable than forgettable

Much prefer this to War of the Worlds personally. Might be personal preference however.

Regardless. A masterpiece. A story of the madness that befalls an invisible man, thinking he can do what he likes with complete impunity. Full of dark humour at times, with the story getting darker and faster paced as it goes on. Brings up many moral questions and HG Wells himself wrote about the influence of Plato in his work, in particular the story of The Ring of Gyges and its moral question of if one could get away with crimes, would one attempt to do so?

Highly recommend this dark, at times absurd and hilarious but very thought-provoking story.

FYI, I used the Librivox/solgoodmedia The Invisible Man Audiobook podcast to read along with much of the book. Listened 2x the speed but it was still a good audiobook I think.
