I love this book so much. It's heartbreaking and devastating and beautiful and funny. I love it. I want to go read it again (for the third time? Fourth?) right now.

I've gotten rid of so many things...but haven't been able to let go of the mix tapes yet. I've thought about scanning in just the jacket lists of songs and personal messages, because I certainly don't listen to them anymore.

Reading Sheffield just makes it harder now not to romantize them and everything else from the 90s era. How can you not romantize the era in which you fell in love?

harry styles recommended this and i read it. prob would’ve liked it more if i understood 90s-00s culture bc there were SO many references and i didn’t get them. but other than that it was so perf the writing and grief and storytelling sooo good

This was so bad. It had no structure and could’ve been half the length. Painfully repetitive. I kept hoping it would get better because someone I like recommended it but alas.

It’s a memoir with a music focus. The nail in the coffin was me hating 90% of the songs mentioned...
