Thia is probably the best Bridgerton I have read so far. It had consistent characterisation and managed to convey the grief and distress the main characters feel quite well. The sex scenes also were more varied than in the previous books. Still i would say the romance was the weakest part and Michael's behaviour at times upsetting. Also Julia Quinn sets up that Francesca wants a baby as her primary motivation and then doesn't even think to tell the reader if she ever gets one until the later-added second epilogue.
Colin Bridgerton is briefly in this book and bizarrely perceptive compared to Romancing Mr Bridgerton.

Definitely the raciest of the books so far. The story kept pace and there was no lull in it. The scenes were well articulated in the love scenes as well as the build up to it. Hoping the series doesn’t ruin it now by Swopping character as would like to see the on screen version of Michael now.

Miscommunication is annoying. No clear consent. I didn't like Michael's anger and how he forced Franny. There is no commentary on the colonialism or racism in the book, it just supports it.

The 6th book in the Bridgerton series I've read. I enjoyed this one, and it is one of my favourites that I've read so far.  A quick and easy read. The story is of Francesca, who loves her husband, John. He dies unexpectedly, and she mourns him. She loses her child but desperately wants a child, so she decides to remarry. Michael is Johns cousin and has been in love with Francesca since he's known her. Micharl is known as a rake, and his womanising is legendary, but he is best friends with both John and Francesca and hides his feelings for her by telling his wicked conquest stories. A regency set historical novel with a healthy dose of smut thrown in.
