Spoiler The writing of this is amazing, I felt like I was just flowing from page to page. I also really liked the first half of the book, Poppy and Ash's relationship was super cute. Still, it was a little sudden for me, I'm not one for Insta-Love type romance.

The idea of the second half was great, though the execution could have been better. For the first half of it, I dreaded opening this book so much, it probably took me five times as long as the first half of the entire book. I literally considered DNFing.

Poppy was the only thing that really mattered to Ash, it seems - which is especially odd considering they didn't know each other for that long. I wished that it would have elaborated a little more on her relationship with her family and Adara now (or the lack thereof).

Some of the MC's decisions got on my nerves as well. I wish Esen wouldn't have said that Ash wasn't egoistical for some of them, because fuck yeah she was. I understood her to a certain extent - but mentally, I was screaming at her to get a grip.

Actually, they both got on my nerves. Poppy was fine at first, but progressively got worse the further we got into the story.

Anyway. Speaking of family, I didn't really buy the found family trope towards the end of the book. To me, Ash's relationship to Dev and Esen didn't change all that much compared to when they first met, and I don't see enough depth in their relationship for it to be considered family. The only thing connecting them is that they're dead. I would have bought it more if they tried convincing me Poppy considered Dev her sister.

I only finished this book this morning, so I might edit this in the next few days. I tried my best to sort out my thoughts lol.

Overall, it was a well-written book with a great premise, and though the execution could have been improved at some points, it's a cute casual read.
