Overall, I think I would have rated this higher if not for the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Palestine. Reading descriptions of fictional gore inflicted on kids when it’s actually happening irl, and I’m seeing it on my phone every day, idk. It felt really bad. That being said, I did find myself invested in the story and stayed up way too late reading multiple times. The best part of the book was the /spoiler chapter with the warthogs in the hotel, and I wish the author had expanded on that aspect of the story more or does so in the future /spoiler
