I think the writing concept was interesting—the author interviewing people from the event. However, this book was not for me. It could be that I read it at the wrong time. I struggled to want to pick it up.

This is one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever come across. The story is fascinating, brutal, and something I couldn’t stop listening to. Highly recommended.

I’ve never read Lord of the Flies but I’m assuming this is a modern version of that. I could NOT put it down. Makes me want to read Lord of the Flies itself if that book is just as gripping as this one.

I really liked how this book was written interview style. It felt real. This is a great play on Lord of the Flies and, dare I say, a better version.

Normally I don't like gorey details. But I soon became kind of numb to them. I really liked the approach they took on how to tell the story (through interviews). Overall liked the book alot.

It was pretty good. It's not really "scary" like jump scare it's like people are crazy and this could be real life one day kinda scary. It's esentially about a natural disaster happening and what people do to survive being stuck in a place. The book is told in interviewed stories from survivors. I haven't read/ listened to a book like that yet so I enjoyed it being different and new to me. And I really enjoyed the audio version. Both narrators were great. I just didn't like how the author referred to "big girls" as he puts it. At first I thought it was just one character being a dick but then it kept happening with other characters in different chapters. It wasn't like the worse I ever heard, it was like " what was her name, Sadie or Sarah idk I always get big girls names mixed up" idk why this stuck with me and gave me the ick but I just didn't have tolerance for it. Otherwise not a bad read. Just wasn't as effed up or tense or gripping as I was hoping.
