A fantastical story of what happens immediately after death. Very comforting in Klune’s style while covering dark hard themes. Many beautiful passages and thoughts.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Narrator’s portrayal of Mae. She felt harder than the words were written and made it less believable to me.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I love this book so much, it’s so emotional and explores grief, death, acceptance, choice, identity, and humanity in such a beautiful; soft way. Wallace Price is such a fucking asshole but he is human and capable of very human feelings and we get to watch him explore that vulnerability. His bond with the main cast of characters is so wholesome and found family I love it. The book is comedic and lighthearted but then it sucker-punches you with these hard hitting moments of grief. All of the characters are so intriguing and fun to learn about. I loved every second of this book.

Another heartwarming book from TJ Klune, with very different worldbuilding to The House in the Cerulean Sea but a similar essential structure.

Spoiler Grumpy-sunshine romance where the grumpy character is charmed and changed by the people of a fantasy environment, and grows protective of them and the environment.

Recommended to those who wanted The House in the Cerulean Sea to never end.

Be warned this book deals with death and dying and all that comes with it.
It's a deeply personal and powerful story that is, at times, difficult to get through, but not impossible.

There was nothing wrong with the book, just "not my cup of tea". I don't have much interest in ghosts or afterlife stories like this. Overall is was a lighthearted easy read.

This is an absolutely perfect book. It gripped me (in the coziest hug) from the first line and never let go. I laughed, I cried, I reread it immediately. Can't recommend highly enough.
