An amazing book! Quick to read, with positive messages and delightful, detailed illustrations. I especially liked seeing Grace using two spoons tied together as a stethoscope when she was pretending to be a doctor!

This was a cute story about being able to follow your dreams. Anyone is capable of anything no matter their sex and race. My students enjoyed this book and I loved the message behind it.

This is a fantastic book about believing in one's self and going for the things one wants no matter what others say, but it's also about the importance of representation in stories. To paraphrase a saying I've heard many times, it's hard to be what you can't see. It's essential that all different types of people be represented in the stories we tell, from the page to the big screen, and not just in stereotypical roles. People of all sorts can be the heroine/hero, villain, love interest, sidekick, etc. I loved this book!

The illustrations are a bit 70's, but its a great story! (A little girl is told she can't play Peter Pan in the play because she is black. She does anyhow, and does it well. Inspiring story for little ones--and big ones, too.)

This lives up to the title. Grace is one amazing girl with an incredible imagination!

She loves to act and creates all sorts or roles and scenes for herself. Sometimes alone, other times with her cat and supportive family. and how I loved her family, encouraging her and letting her imagination thrive!! Even when others put her down her family finds a way to lift her back up and help her defy the odds. This was such a up-lifting book!

The art is well done, and just goes to show the depth or Grace's creativity and lifestyle. Between the words spoken and pictures given you get a real feel for the times, setting and way in which Grace grows up. I highly recommend this book!

Goodness this book has been one of my favorites since Levar Burton highlighted it on Reading Rainbow and I was so excited to see I could access it through my library's access to Libby. The hyperrealistic paintings are breathtaking and yes, Grace, you can do anything you set your mind to!

This book is great for a readaloud, it's teachable, it encourages creativity, and it highlights "all stories are for all people" as Mary Hoffman states.
