Excellent. While reading this, I had to keep reminding myself that it was non-fiction and not some espionage or thriller novel. A compelling and well-written examination of a little known piece of the workings of both the insurance industry and the Byzantine world of international shipping.
A fitting tribute to Mr. Mockett's pursuit of truth through the examination of facts. May he rest in peace!

"Dead in the water" a true story of hijacking, murder and a global maritime conspiracy" by Matthew Campbell and Kit Chellel is engaging and interesting journalism made more relevant by recent focus on transportation logistics.

An interesting book that left me with many more questions. It would have been great if the authors had used the key story in the book as an example to tease out broader themes of potential fraud in the shipping industry. The story itself was fascinating but the ‘so what’ would have been even more so.
