I'm going to do my best to not go spoilery on the first book in this series, because that stuff was good and you need to read it.
Sara's memory has returned once she stopped her 'birth control' pills and Jacob finds out that she has left The Northern Light with another pilot. She realizes that The Light ain't all it's cracked up to be.
That whole follow Father Gabriel stuff and obeying everything your husband says can NOT be loads of fun.

Jacob finds her and the rescue is on. Turns out she picked the wrong guy to escape with. Jacob comes clean to her once he realizes that her memories are back and they profess their lovey dovey stuff.

Sara has a decision to make though and one of them is: Does she go back to the Kool aid drinkers for the greater good?

It's hard being brainwashed.

Jacob and Sara both feel that the evil Father Gabriel is not going to give up his army of worshippers very easily though. He has to have the old Jim Jones plan somewhere up his sleeve.

I LOVE these books, they throw in enough of the whole cultish thing that keeps me turning pages faster than Tom Cruise can whip out the crazy.

What a ending, this book was intense! Aleatha really is a evil genius! This book was face paced and revealed so much about The Light and those who follow. It did leave it open for another book!!

I thought that “Into the Light” was fast-paced, but “Away from the Dark” was even more so. This was a great follow-up to the first book, with lots of action. The ending was left somewhat open so I’m not sure if the author plans to continue. However, if she does, I’ll definitely buy the next one.

While I really enjoyed this book, not sure if I liked it as much as the preceding book. It definitely had some good twists and turns, but at times it seemed a bit far-reaching or implausible. A bit sad this is the end of this little duet, I really enjoyed reading about the characters and feel like a little bit was left in the air. Hopefully they'll make an appearance in another book!

I was impatient as ever for this sequel, and it really doesn’t keep you waiting once you crack this book open because we’re right back where we left off. Since I can’t say much, this may be a shorter review than normal because I don’t want to give anything away from either this book or the first one.

AWAY FROM THE DARK certainly packed some punches. The suspense and the tension, both internal and external, was very prominent, as it should be; it kept the pages turning as we learned right along with our characters. The intrigue and investigative side of it was fascinating and thrilling. You’ll definitely spend a lot of the book worried and anxious for what’s to come–the proverbial shoe-drop moment. And I guarantee you’ll fight with yourself in wanting to spoil the answer to how it ends in order to calm your racing mind, but you absolutely shouldn’t! This is the kind of story that you have to experience in the moment and be just in the dark (heh) as the rest of us.

I did find the pacing to be a bit off; at times it was too slow, and with the fast-moving, edge-of-your-seat suspense it left certain parts feeling disjointed. The connection between our two main characters has also morphed which may take a bit to get used to as it did with me–and I guess I wanted a bit more oomph involved between them to give it just a bit more of something (vague, aren’t I?). It could also honestly be that it’s been awhile since I read the first one. All of that aside, man–it was still a really good novel. AWAY FROM THE DARK is a romantic suspense thriller with such intricate details and characters. I mean, who else but Aleatha Romig could make this subject matter what it is? Her plotting is truly masterful, and I bow down to her because her storytelling is so unique. And while this does conclude their story, I’m hoping we somehow get a bit more from this general plot line (*hint*nudge*).

There is no way that was the ending. It was too much of a cliffhanger.

I loved this book... it was better than the first one, but I'm not happy with the ending since I still have questions.

This didn't capture me like the first one did. I think because there was less psychological suspense which was what blew my mind about the first. I found it got a bit muddled towards the end as it geared up for book three.

I cannot wait for the next book!

Aleatha is pure genius and this sequel is just as good, if not better than 'Into the Light' which is my#1 read of 2016.

Aleatha does an incredible job of a quick rerun of where we left off in ITL, and moving things along quickly from there.
Now, when I saw quickly I don't mean too fast for enough information, or details. I mean quickly as you get your heart pumping and questions flowing.

I love the way this book ends, it leaves you wanting more, and mad as hell! (At least, I hope it does).

This book comes out October 18th, and if you haven't read Into the Light yet, do it now because Away From the Dark is a book you're going to want on your kindles
