**2021**
I enjoyed my reread and noted a few things that I want to do

*2020*
This was soo good! I really enjoyed all of the witchy stuff along with the other science-y and interior decorating parts of this book. Also any time there was going to be a two page spread, the last line on the previous page was a complete sentence. It always bothers me when there's a large, lovely picture that cuts through the middle of a sentence.

I would also recommend this to people who aren't interested in witchcraft or new age religion. It has the woo woo stuff but in ways that make sense to those who aren't pagan or wiccan or a witch.

Honestly this book is very similar to Hygge. If you’ve read any books about Hygge or other cozy lifestyles, you’ll probably vibe with this one too. I also really liked how the author's own experiences weren't overwhelming the rest of the book. Sometimes in non-fiction, the authors use their own experiences to relate to specific things and I'm not always here for it.

I agree with the author about how the concept of home is important and it's so easy to just become complacent with how your space looks. Sometimes we just don't have the time or money to get it done right away. And as someone with a pretty short attention span and is pretty indecisive about aesthetics, I tend to end up in a space that's half done or a mix of a lot of different styles. I am hoping to use some of this to just help me get on top of my apartment's vibe and focus energy towards my future home. I am currently saving up for a house and I want it to have everything we need.

For those who aren't interested in witchcraft, I recommend reading;

The Introduction
Witchcraft 101 - until the end of the Science of Crystal Healing and Herbalism
Manifesting - until the end of the Keys section (there is an astrology section here if that is of interest)
Clearing- until the end of Strategies for purging, Clearing spray, Using sound to clear, Natural cleaning to the end of the chapter
Protection - Owning a room
Comfort - All of comfort
Harmony - until the tarot section (unless you are interested in tarot)
Balance - All of balance
The conculsion

a great book for beginners! i do wish it went a little more in depth, but considering its length, it covered many aspects in a concise & easy way.

Some stuff was a little far out, but overall pretty interesting. I'm definitely saving some of the recipes for later.

So much New Age pseudoscience. There's a whole section about the importance of not appropriating other cultures that goes on to explain how to "respectfully" appropriate just the elements you find "healing." Skip this, read Sasha Sagan or Marie Kondo instead.

Some interesting ideas and spellwork suggestions, but much of the text is a bland review of information easily accessible elsewhere, by significantly more qualified sources. More for a true beginner than for someone looking to expand their spellwork and magical practice.

Wasn't what I was expecting. Not bad, but I wouldn't recommend it. I was irritated that the author kept saying she would get to something later on. What is the point of bringing it up if you aren't going to explain it right then and there. That kind of thing always irks me.
