I loved this book! The story is so real and relatable (even if I have never had such diagnosis myself), and the narrator’s voice is able to transport the reader into what Juliet is going through. Would definitely recommend; I have read the Italian translation but somehow wished I had read it in the original language - although the Italian cover and design is overall amazing!

Juliet the Maniac follows an average girl growing up in the late '90s, battling various mental disorders in addition to typical teenage struggles. Escoria's writing is raw, lyrical, and intimate, and although my experiences are vastly different than Juliet's, I still felt seen as someone with anxiety and OCD. The way Escoria writes about feelings of otherness and hopelessness struck me. I wish this book existed when I was a teenager! Books like this are crucial for people who struggle with mental health, so they know they're not alone.
