Not nearly as strong or funny as her first novel. It felt like she was exaggerating everything from the first novel to try to make this one successful, but it was kind of off-putting instead.

If she hadn't named it Frenemies and had a false sense of Boston, I would've given it another star. Overall, just really predictable after awhile. And who has social events and parties like that?

Frenemies is another favorite Megan Crane book. I love Gus and Henry's relationship dynamics and enjoyed reading this.

This book paralleled my life almost too closely in some ways.

This is a fun little chick-lit story. It's a very quick read with themes about friendship and growing up, told from the perspective of a girl about to turn 30 when her life suddenly kind of falls apart - an old friend steals her boyfriend, she has a fight with her 2 best friends in the world, her new neighbor is cranky, etc. etc. It was cute, I enjoyed it, the writing was pretty clear and light (usually my problem with chick lit is that the writing is terrible, forced and laborious - not so here). I'd recommend for a light read, a brain break. Good for the beach or airport.

The novel had the novelty of being about a Librarian in Boston...but why did the main character, Gus, have to be so annoying? Is it really realistic that she can afford to live in a one-bed in the Fenway, while working at a small museum library? The ending and plot are a bit obvious, but it's entertaining for what it is and is overall a quick, fun read.

Loved this book! This book was entertaining and so real. The author really captured the way best friends can be with each other. We fight, we're mean, we say hurtful things but in the end we love each other and would do anything for our friends.
