I enjoyed this a bit more than #1 - really love the celebration of storytelling and the episodic nature of the series

this is definitely different than the first two books and i loved that Chih doesnt have any martial arts skill. In my head Chih has the voice of Aang so during the whole travel in the Riverlands i was expecting them to suddenly fight LOL this travelling cleric keeps on suprising me with no action but just stories

Always grateful for the chance to enter this world again. I hope for many more. (And I think I'll want to reread this one sometime, soon)

Well, now I have to wait a week for the next one.

This one’s really a 4.5; it takes a slight ding because, while it’s the one I liked the least (which is proportional, I still loved it to death), it’s also the story I wanted to spend the longest in. If Vo wanted to go back and make this a full-length novel, I would be more than happy to read it. The characters introduced here could fuel their own series of novels.

But, of course, that’s the point. That we all carry these stories within us, that nobody can see, that define us and make us who we are. This week, I’ve been thinking about that a lot (iykyk), and how we’re all of us like that, our exteriority’s just a tiny snippet of all of who we are.

Okay, I changed my mind, it’s another 5.

The point about stories at the end was interesting, but journey stories and I just don’t get along.
