This did not do much for me. There were excellent passages but as a whole it felt frenetic and often jumbled, a very free stream-of-consciousness output but one that is unfocused and that collapses under the author's very large assumptions of reader understanding. To me this feels like a book for the writer rather than a book meant to be read by others; work that is cathartic but not resonant with external thought.

writing style has the disjointed-jointedness of dizzying, mesmerizing poetry, where so many of the phrases and words seem nonsensical until you really read it all together and everything resonates unexpectedly with its rhythm and flow. fascinating exploration of the boxes people put others into

Sometimes the collection felt a little disjointed but theirs a distinctive voice to most of the work with the clarity of someone knowing how they’re sharpening their tongue

This is utterly musical. I couldn't help but sway with the rhythm of it as Parker's words propelled me forward into deeper meaning.

I really want to get poetry, but I just don’t think I do. I think I loved the titles of the book and poems the most. Is there such thing as single-line poetry?
