This book deserves 7 stars. Everything a perfect read could be. Thought provoking, beautifully poetic, emotional (to say the least - actually i’m sobbing) and memorable. Definitely in the top books I’ve ever read. Everyone needs to read this.

I feel like this novel is a modern classic. The writing is absolutely spectacular and the details are immense. The story is so unique, following the highs and lows of Addie's life. I felt a million emotions at once, especially at the climax of the story. My heart broke and was repaired all at once!

Very intriguing premise— the book is a cool thought experiment wrapped around characters who are very much themselves. Both the characters and the premise are incredibly self-consistent.
This book stuck the landing, which I wasn’t sure it would be able to do. The writing style was at times a little distant and there were a few moments that dragged a bit despite pushing the narrative forward, but overall I thought it was well written. So much of the novel was deeply existential, in a way that made my chest ache and kept me up at night. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not lol

La verdad es que me gustaron tanto la trama como los personajes, pero el libro de 545 páginas podría haber sido de 350 como mucho. Entiendo el porqué de la longitud, pero igual me pareció demasiado largo sin necesidad.

"If it cannot be love, well, then, at least it is not lonely."

Angry women, gods you shouldn't pray to and an intriguing answer to the question: what would you do with forever?
The answer is nobody wants to be immortal.

Ms. Addie Larue gets herself in quite the pickle as a young woman and has to live out the consequences. This book took me on such an emotional roller coaster I think I went through all the stages of grief! The storyline was something I have never read before it was so intriguing and really kept me hooked the whole time, but I was able to predict the ending early on.

I didn't enjoy how often the chapters would jump from one time to another, and also had dual povs. It was distracting and hard to keep track. The last few chapters were the most interesting part of the book, I wish we had more of Luc and Addie. Loved the book though, I don't think I'd pick it up again.
