A fun instalment in this series. Not as tense/suspenseful as some of the more recent books. I enjoyed it and the mystery kept me on my toes.

I could never have imagined the end to this book. It is so well written.
Firstly, it is unusual for me to not have any idea of suspects and there wasnât. This is a man dead for no reason, absolutely loved by everyone but he is still dead.
A star married to a star, in a perfect marriage. Both good people. No financial dings, sex scandal, or drug problems.
Just dead.
Then these possible suspects came along and every time I am like, yea, she did it, but then she didnât.
Who did???
She did. Lol. She did.
5 stars.
Well worth the read.

A very solid whodunnit set in the future in NYC, this is a nice entry in the Eve Dallas series. Many favorite side characters are in the picture only on the periphery (particularly Mavis), the murderer confessed a bit too readily to a bit too much in the denouement, and the book is unduly repetitive, but I enjoyed the unveiling of the real story in the final portion of the book and the detailed supporting investigation. Admirably narrated as usual by Susan Ericksen.

My favourite series, never before given less than a 3 star previously and even then only once.
I knew who and why within the first 2 chapters, before we even meet Eve. Its a complete mix of a specific Agatha Christie and a Bette Davis film. Neither of which have named due to spoilers.
Knowing the mystery would be ok, if only there were the amusing cameos which we have come to expect from a J D Robb. This was centered around Eve, with a slight Peabody and Roake appearances (meaning less than normal). Also due to knowing from the start meant I could not get into the book. Nearly 3 days reading for a J D Robb, which is unknown for me.
So disappointed, and it has put me off from day of release reading.
