EGG is a fascinating look into, well, eggs.
It's not a cookbook - rather it's a comprehensive study of the most important foods on the planet, and the history, politics, economics and complex social factors surrounding the egg. Without eggs, there is no life.
This book is a far deeper dive into the humble egg than I ever thought possible, told with wit (and snark) . An engaging read that is part memoir, part non-fiction, and egg-sactly what it says on the cover.
~ Many thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review~.

I adore this kind of book. It’s a sort of renaissance work of affection and obsession. Lizzie Stark loves eggs in their manifold forms, and she decided to sit down and tell us why. I suppose you’re wondering if this is a book about eggs-as-biology, or -as-food, or, perhaps, -as-symbol. And the answer to all three is: yes. It’s fun, fast, surprisingly vulnerable, and genuinely interesting.
(I have to add that, frustratingly, the audiobook is marred by several production errors. Repeated lines, small skips, and mispronunciations. The book is wonderful none-the-less.)

I generally enjoy books about the history of something. Really liked this one too, even as a vegan. Lol. Plus, chapter 13 talking about Alice Woodruff, class of 1922 from my alma mater Mount Holyoke College, was a nice bonus.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Cancer, Chronic illness, Sexism, Blood, Medical content, Pregnancy, Colonisation, and Pandemic/Epidemic

Very interesting! I do feel like it could have used double the citations. Photos also could have been beneficial in some chapters.
Egg Money was my favorite
