As I read this it felt as if the second, they arrived in New York to see his family I couldn’t stand them. Like for the banquet, Thea kept going on and on about how she’s not like other girls, but she has such good curves and that she doesn’t need to wear makeup. I literally had to block everything she was saying at that moment. And then the actual banquet event when she spoke her “mind” and everyone around her clapped at her and Logan comes in saying that everyone thinks that but are afraid. All of them are rich but are afraid of what exactly? The second they opened their mouths and said something so “profound” everyone would just move on and if they made a scene, they could do something unlike Thea who can’t do shit if they ridiculed her. Seriously, the most these people would get if they stepped out of line would be a slap on the wrist and still, they could pay their way back to good graces.
Logan Kendrick is so fucking obnoxious I wanted to yank the hair out of my damn scalp. He kept saying baby (which I hate) and since I was reading it with an audiobook that only intensified. He also kept saying how “this is her home” while trying everything in his power to force them to stay by attempting to propose to Thea. What the fuck. Logan also says that Thea isn’t like other girls because she’s tomboyish. And oh my god they don’t do anything romantic all they do is fuck each other they’re better off co-parenting or better yet the book should’ve ended when they broke up WHICH I fucking celebrated for that’s how much I hated them “together.”
And last and not least the main thing that made me push this book from a 2.25-star rating. The words “inner walls” and “hard suck”. For the love of God and everything holy if you are a writer, please don’t write these words I legitimately gagged when I read that. The only good thing about this book was Charlie and maybe Jackson and Hazel.

The romance was mediocre, but I realized that the point of the story was about second chances.
That being said, I was a bit thrown off by the sudden

I’d been given up on more times than I could count, and I didn’t want that for my precious girl.
“Hold on to me and I’ll take it from there. Don’t let me go, Thea.” The passion in his voice and the intensity of his gaze nearly broke me. Because his plea had nothing to do with dancing.
The one thing I’d always wanted to be was part of a family. A real family. The illusion of Logan with me and Charlie was too tempting to pass up, even if it only lasted a while.
🥃 First person dual POV
🥃 First in a series that can be read as stand alone
🥃 One night stand
🥃 Pregnancy
🥃 From different worlds; city vs. small town
🥃 Billionaire
🥃 Lawyer / Bartender
🥃 Well established secondary characters: Hazel, Jackson (Book 2), Piper (Book 3), Sofia (Book 4), Aubrey (Book 5), links to FMC from The Clover Chapel.
🥃 MC growth: Trust, overcoming past, priorities, self worth.
🥃 Epilogue
• MMC assumes the FMC will fit her life around his; though this conflict is resolved later, he doesn’t make it clear enough how irrational, unfair, and misogynistic his old views were.
• FMC’s self worth issues weren’t fully discussed/resolved.
