Honestly, I didn't like it. It is supposed to be a bridge between Marked and Betrayed. The art was good, and I liked the myths and history of PC Cast’s vampire world, but the storyline was bad. The Characters were barely recognizable. This is a YA comic of the YA series House of Night. Some of the details from the series are changed. Honestly, I just didn't like it and there just isn't much notable about it.

I gave this a 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. I loved this. But then again I am trash for everything House Of Night. This gave me everything that I wanted. This brought me history, magic, love and friendship. I def want to look up the true histories of these amazing women. This collection brought us lesson's I feel like we all need to learn in our lives. I will def remember these and try to live my life better because of them. P.S. I also loved the Artwork. I liked seeing the many faces of Nyx through different peoples eyes.

This is really nothing more than a comic book version of Fledgling Handbook 101. Once again, disappointed in the House of Night.

Zoey Redbird has exposed Aphrodite for her bullying ways. In result, she's taken Aphrodite's place as leader of the Dark Daughters. Leading up to her first meeting, she starts questioning if she's meant to be the leader. Nyx tasks here with learning five lessons so she can always be sure she will be good enough.

I want to preface this by saying two things. I bought this four years ago and never read it because I found it hard to read on the kindle. I also haven't really had the opportunity to read that many graphic novels because of lack of access and lack of confidence of reading them properly. I read this one via ComiXology. It was so easy to read.

This isn't a review of the program though. This is a review of the book itself. I am probably biased here, but I really loved it. I love all things related to the House Of Night. It has to be one of my favorite series of all times hands down. There's a big part of me that wishes they would take each of the House Of Night novels and turn them into graphic novels.

I do fully recommend this book. I give it a full five-star rating. I'll have to see if my mother and boyfriend will want to read it. The graphics were amazing and the storyline was great. I can't wait to read many other graphic novels now. I also strongly recommend reading the House Of Night series.

There was one good thing about this book. And that was the cover.

Not that I expected much from a comic version of a book, but... This was hardly recognizable. It's just 5 chapters, each chapter is Zoey learning a lesson from a story Damien reads from the Handbook. An occasional short flashback to explain something that happened because they started with book 2 and suddenly realized Oh, stuff happened in book 1, let's flashback.

The focus is obviously on these stories and everything else is pushed to the side. I didn't get this book to read about Cleopatra, or Circe. Silly me wanting to see how Zoey and co actually looked and interacted and got all their drama together. Well, it was not to be. All she did was talk to Aphrodite and kill a snake.

Oh, and she has a brother now?? Since WHEN?

And I like how the author made it sound like Nyx was plump in the book series (or at least had Zoey talk like Nyx was fat) and now she's a toothpick. So much for good roll models.

They keep talking about Erik like he's a part of Zoey's life, and he's in maybe one or two panels. And even then he looks like a copy of Damien.

In short, this comic reminded me of why I hate the series with such burning passion.

I’ve loved this series so it was great to see it illustrated and relive it. I can’t wait to explore it again in the future.
