I sadly just was not impressed by this one the way a lot of other people were. It wasn't bad, and I didn't have a lot of complaints --just really had trouble getting into it. Loved Bryce and Hunt though.

I did not expect this book to be so intense! Initially, I hesitated with reading it because the cashier at the bookstore told me it was like a modern retelling of ACOTAR and I was afraid I would get bored in the middle of this huge book. A "modern retelling of ACOTAR" is SO not this book and I am so glad! It's amazing! Action, adventure, angst, mystery, modern, cityscape, and many different creature types make up this book. It made me laugh hard and cry more times than any other book ever has! I have fallen in love with the world building and the story kept me on my toes the entire time. I don't really relate to any of the characters on a personal level (other than Bryce's extreme sass) but I still love these characters with my whole heart! I highly recommend the Crescent City series
