I'm liking this series more and more with every book. I'm already a bit sad that the next one might be the last.

A little too much angst, Tortured Hero / Heroine determined to “soothe his pain and to heal his heart” for my tastes. Which turned into a FWB to love trope, which I don’t really care for either.
It didn’t help that the first bedroom scene was somewhat lacking. Not sure what exactly - it just seemed like it was moving along as you expect and then *poof* it was over! Kind of like my own reality - which I read these freaking romances to get away from! The rest of the book was up to my heat standards though.
There were certain things about the suspect apprehension that I found unbelievable. I can swallow a certain amount because, well, fiction - but these were so unbelievable it took me out of the story.
While I was kind of underwhelmed, and at one point declared it to be a DNF for me, it wasn’t so bad I wouldn’t be willing try another one by this author. If I can find one without the tortured hero angle (which, looking at what she’s written so far, seems to be her thing).
