I haven't read fantasy in a while but this book very much read like a lot of exposition. I know it is building towards a bigger story and I'm still interested in reading through it but when I put it down there wasn't this immediate need to read the next one for me

I loved this book so much, and especially the audiobook, which is very well narrated. It's a fantasy about a queen who's attacked by some of her own people so she takes her only daughter and flees the kingdom, hiding her daughter with some peasants while she tries to gather forces to take back her kingdom. I'll definitely be listening to the rest of the series.
