I'm not a big crier, but with this book I was in tears more than once. I was hesitant to give it 5 stars because it's so hyped up, but it's definitely a 5 star read. I'm so happy and wish that would be a reality in my lifetime.

This was a fun, trashy romance novel with some pretty hot sexy bits. It wasn't flawless, but the issues didn't spoil my enjoyment. The plot was engaging, there were several good and beleivable characters, but there were also some characters who's disparate parts didn't quite hang together. Some descriptions of character personalities and motivations (especially for Alex) didn't gel with their actions and it seems like jetlag doesn't exist in this universe. Also, at times it's painfully obvious this is a millennial writing about gen Z, and an American writing about Britain, but I still recommend it, the heart is in the right place and the teenage angst and impulsive not-always-consensual behaviour is absolutely true, even if it's not ideal

Mostly it was a great read. However too much american politics, campaign stuff, these parts were super boring.

A cute, fun read! At times, the affection/romance is laid on thick which is the point anyway. Doesn't include anything crazy, but definitely NSFW if you are or are not into that. It's interesting how much this story became a more optimistic revisionist telling of what could have happened between 2016 to 2020. I appreciated McQuiston's attention to detail and researched portrayal of the United States political system and British monarchy.
