I felt connected to Lola even though I was furious with her at times. And sweet sweet Oliver. Love them

I called "Autoboyography" the older, angstier cousin to "Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda" - it was a charming YA Contemporary and remains my favorite from the pair. The Beautiful series was fan fiction following Fifty Shades, they tried a few YA paranormal, and their most recent works seem to be ushering them more and more into Women's Fiction. I don't mind when my favorites expand their range, but it has felt like they are leaving Romanceland behind, which is a shame because they did it so well!

But Wild Seasons has always felt like their sweet spot where everything aligned and they just got it right. It's the series no one ever talks about, which I recommend all the time. The characters are fun, charming, and quirky, the romance is absolutely adorable, and the steam factor is just right. This series has always been my go-to rec for introducing readers to Romance and those that have read it, loved it.

And Dark Wild Night is probably my favorite of the series. Lola is an all-or-nothing kind of girl that needs to understand balance, while Oliver is just...so sweet and incredible. He is the very definition of a book boyfriend. I never had the same pull for London and Luke, so I didn't finish the series. But I have been missing the spice from the more recent Christina Lauren books, so I will absolutely revisit these old favorites...4.5 stars

This was fine. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it.

“People don’t just take breaks in relationships to catch up on work.”

Wait. What. They don't? Ah, so this is why I'm single. LMFAO.

“I’m not sure she even has a millisecond of time to think about romance, but it’s fine; I think about it enough for the both of us.”

I've liked all of the books in this series so far, and Ansel IS my favorite, but you know what, Oliver's steady calming energy is right up there too.

I wasn't expecting to relate to Lola and Oliver as much as I did. I understood their fears about not wanting to do things wrong and navigating professional and creative pressures. I especially enjoyed that the foundation of their support was in their friendship and the way they understood each other's careers and creative mindsets.

“I unload my life on pages, transporting myself to a different world and seeing how I might react, survive, thrive.”

"Figure out how to balance Oliver with a career you’ve wanted your whole life," he tells me. "Because you’ll end up with neither if you think you have to choose."

“I’ve realized . . . I’ve never needed to matter to someone as much as I need to matter to you.”

“I love you still. Whatever else you’re thinking, that’s not changed with the sunup. I loved you before last night. I’ll love you tomorrow. I’ve just said the words now.”

So here's a bunch more of my favorite quotes because Christina Lauren are masters of emotion:

She can fight her way back to me. She doesn’t need saving. If I went in there now and tried to walk her through everything between us, I’d always wonder if she’d have come back to me on her own.
I have to believe she’ll fight for us, that I’m not wrong about her. I have to believe that I want to be there for her, always, but that she doesn’t need me to be.

"You’re afraid you’re going to abandon the things you love."
"So you’re preemptively abandoning them. Or, if I know you as well as I think I do, you don’t let things get too deep in the first place."

“Stop,” he says quietly. “This isn’t what I mean. I don’t mean you should hide when you’re emotional. I mean you should recognize that I’m the guy who wants to see how you’re feeling. To hear about it.”

“But I need to know that you’re not going to leave, either. I can’t feel like I come second. You will always come first to me,” he says. “I will never take you away from your art, but I don’t ever want to feel like a distraction to you.”

My favorite of the series so far!!! If you know me, you know I’m a friends-to-lovers lover TO NO END.

Oliver and Lola are just so cute and nerdy and I loved the friendship they built before they dove into anything romantic.

Oliver is HANDS DOWN my favorite character of the series so far. He is so sweet and considerate and such an amazing friend to Lola in the beginning. He was so determined to make her understand how he felt about her and that everything he was doing was intentional and not him just trying something out with her. I LOVE HIM…spice was amazing too lol.

As for the third-act conflict, uggghhhhh it was just so frustrating because I knew it was coming. It could have been handled better between the characters but AHHHH I get where both were coming from in a way. Resolution was also very quick.

Overall, I love Oliver Lore and I hope to get glimpses lol Loliver in the last book ✨
