I LOVE THIS BOOK! Britta and Wes are now my favorite book couple! They are so cute together and I love how they had an anonymous friendship before meeting. This book gets deep and real, I was expecting a super cute fluffy romance but The Fastest Way To Fall delves into family drama, unhealthy habits, and vulnerability.

Emotionally, this had me in a wreck! I was giggling, squealing at the banter! Next thing I know I'm freaking out! Then I'm happy again, to only get angry at someones mother! Then excited again, only to have my heart pulled from my chest! I was so emotionally there for this book, I'm so glad it is my first read for 2025. Just, perfection!

The first time I’ve ever read a miscommunication trope that was ACTUALLY miscommunication. It was good!!! I didn’t hate it!!! I love the way Williams writes her female characters and her romances. They just feel so fucking authentic. This couples went back and forth a little too much for me before getting together but still think this earned its 4.25

I really enjoyed the first 60% of this book. I thought it would be a 5-star read. Unfortunately, some things in the last half sort of soured the experience for me.

Starting with what I enjoyed:
- I loved the fitness coaching aspect of the story. I try to stay active without focusing on weight loss, so that was a breath of fresh air.
- I loved the body positivity and plus size representation.
- Britta was so relatable and funny. Honestly, I found myself enjoying her story much more than the romance!
- I loved the epistolary aspects as they were writing back and forth, slowly falling in love without knowing who the other person was or what they looked like.
- I LOVED the scene of them meeting in person for the first time, it was so damn cute.
- There were scenes of them together throughout the middle of the book that were super cute and built great tension.
- The character resolutions were very sweet and satisfying in the very end.

Now onto what I didn’t love:
- Around them 60% mark, the romance lost its steam for me. Things began to develop very quickly, and it lost all the tension that was building up. The spicy scene also didn’t work for me personally.
- The character choices, assumptions, and miscommunications in the back half really did not work for me. There were so many instances where a small change of action could have totally changed the outcome, and that was frustrating.
- Part of the ending of the book feels like a train wreck, and it felt too real. I was stressed, and not in a goofy fun way. It was far too messy.
- I REALLY tried not to allow this aspect to affect the story, but I didn’t love the audiobook. The male narrator is great, but the female narrator sounds like she has a stuffy nose or is holding her nose shut. Every time it switched to Britta’s chapters I cringed at the thought of having to hear her voice again.

Really enjoyed the audiobook (Teddy Hamilton)! Overall it was cute, I liked the plus size representation and body positivity, but I was left a bit bored. A lot of the dialogue was cheesy and it dragged at parts.

I enjoyed it well enough. Bumped up the score a tad for the good body positivity/HAES attitude throughout the book.
