I stayed up until 6:00 a.m. to finish this book because it hooked me from the very beginning. There was no way I could put this down once I started.

I have read all of Cora's books in the past, and am a huge fan of her New Adult novels. She's an amazing storyteller and it able to build these deep, well thought out characters that you can relate to and root for, no matter the circumstance.

I'm amazed by Cora's talent with words. Roar is so beautifully written, Cora easily paints the picture of this vast, foreign land filled with deadly storms and amazing magic. She allows the reader to place themselves in Aurora's world. I can picture myself there as she first meets her fiance, when she enters into The Eye, when she meets her first storm head on. Cora has the ability to weave this gorgeous tale through twists and turns, love and loss, betrayal and deception, and it's such a wonderful story. She has such a unique way of telling showing what's going to be coming, but you don't really figure it out until it happens. Once I reread it, I found some little hints she left between those crafty words of hers.

I know Cora can write a great romance, and she doesn't not disappoint here, but she doesn't make it the main focal point of this book. And that's important. Roar is a strong, determined, tenacious young woman who takes her future into her own hands and makes it happen for herself, the romance is a nice side story that just makes it overall a great book.

If you're a fan of a bad-ass strong female lead and lots and lots of amazing world building and magic and storms and adventure and fighting and love and all the things that make books great - you'll want to read this one!

Well this is almost the opposite of the last book I read: I liked the characters, both the rag-tag group of heroes and the villains. But the world was so confusing and the magic system was never really explained as much as it was being constantly challenged, and changed, as the story progressed.

Oh, geez. I'm freaking out. TALK ABOUT CLIFFHANGER. Please... I can't wait for a second book. This is torture! GAH! I CANNOT STAND IT! Amazing... I just can't put this into words.

I NEED A SEQUEL! That about sums it up.

Edit: It got off to a rocky start, with the whole "instant attraction" thing going on, and there was also A LOT of romance, and not much plot in the beginning. BUT THE REST REALLY MADE UP FOR IT ALL! Once more, wow.

I read this in 2 sittings, and neither times I could manage to keep track of time. It was that good.

So, I gave this book a 2.5 out of 5 stars. How about we start with the positives?
1. The world is amazing, I am extremely intrigued by it and just want to keep learning more.
2. I am very excited to read about the war that is going to happen, and what will happen when Roar gets back to Pavan. I am so excited for the Queen to learn she is alive!
3. I love that Roar is tall, so sick of just reading about shorter girls (no offence to short girls out there)
4. Nova, Jinx, and Bait. Favourite characters by far, loved them all.
Now to the things I didn't like, and why this was given such a low rating.
The trope of the alpha male and the fiery heroine, but of course she can be taken down just by some sweet words by the male. I thought Roar was going to be so strong and kick ass when she learnt about Cassius manipulating her, and it's like the author kept trying to do that, but ultimately kept failing. And Jesus lord how possessive the main and 'good' love interest is? I'm sorry, but I wouldn't mind at all if Locke died in the next book. There will be no other escape for this hyper masculinity torture this book was.

Okay so I was a little hesitant to start this book because I wasn't super drawn into the novel based on the blurb, but I definitely got into this novel once I actually cracked it open. There were so many amazing things about this book but mostly I loved the main character, aka Roar, who had some major girl power moves. Definitely a read I would recommend!

I literally couldn't put this book down! I found this one to be pretty unique in terms of the world and magic system. I liked that the storms were semi-sentient beings almost, and were the main protagonists of the story. It was also refreshing to see the badass female not start out that way, and that she still made mistakes. The characters are all really intriguing. I am very much interested in this Storm Lord character, I feel a moody, morally gray character coming on. I'm up in the air about Cassius at the moment. He's either slightly evil, or just misunderstood. I'm so ready for the next book.
