Excellent for reading aloud on sick days, on rainy days, when you feel like procrastinating, or instead of watching TV before bed. I love the worn hardcover editions I've re-read again and again, but it was wonderful to step into the imagination of an illustrator and see how he envisioned the world and characters to look. While I'd love to have the complete set one day, I do still favor the artwork of Mary GrandPre and enjoy imagining the world as it's always unfolded in my head based on JK Rowling's words.

Watched the Wizarding World Celebrity reading. Lovely. The pandemic is probably the worst thing to happen in a long, long time - but it has led to some grace notes. This was a purely joyful experience. https://www.wizardingworld.com/chapters

This time I read the British version "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" along with the Wizarding World Read at Home chapter videos.

Stephen Fry is a joy. Thanks, Audible, for making this available during the quarantine!

The best children’s book series. I read this aloud to my youngest for the first time and she loved it. It’s great to be on this side of it, watching her gasp and cheer as the book went on.

Another reread down! The MinaLima edition of Harry Potter has got to be the most magical of all! The illustrations, the subtle interactive elements, the impressive weight of every page, made this one of the most enjoyable rereads I've had of the first book.

Great and needed reread of this series. Harry Potter is not perfect but it is to me. This book introduced a world of reading. That is a pretty common event for so many people. But, it is such a personal experience for me to remember myself reading these for the first time. I have perhaps reread them each year since my first time but decided to skip 2020 to, in a way, prove something to myself. Big mistake, as we all know. I need the entire series. And this great book started it all. I love Harry Potter and I will spend my life rereading it.

I have many editions of these books (guilty) so I'd like to showcase the version for this reread. This time I used the edition I purchased from my trip to England. I love these editions so much, they capture Harry's messy hair as well as very specific and iconic moments from the books with the whimsy to which the series begins.
