This book is a nonfiction that discusses about the loosely organized network of people and places that helped slaves run away & seek freedom in the north & Canada that was known as the Underground Railroad. There are a few names that I recognize from my nonfiction reading and I've heard about the Underground Railroad a few times but never actually learn or read about the actual thing. I'm glad that I found this book randomly in the library because now I got the basic ideal of what the "railroad" they're talking about. I've also learned what inspired the [b:Uncle Tom's Cabin|46787|Uncle Tom's Cabin|Harriet Beecher Stowe|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1414349231l/46787._SY75_.jpg|2478635] and what it's implication in the literature world at the time of the publication.
