The kind of light thriller I usually enjoy (think Ruth Ware, but I also enjoyed the author's [b:The Housemaid|60556912|The Housemaid (The Housemaid, #1)|Freida McFadden|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1646534743l/60556912._SY75_.jpg|95443525]). Twists, turns and a fast-paced plot.

The narrator was truly awful and I didn’t love the writing either.

Freida McFadden really knows how to drag me in. From the very beginning I was IN IT!!! It was giving Bluebeard’s Wife and I kept thinking, “DON’T OPEN THE DOOR!!!!! Your daddy is crazy, BETCH! Don’t do it!!!! Zon’t zoo it!” Did she listen??? Nope!
After her father was arrested for killing dozens of women and her mother was arrested for accessory (and then committed suicide in jail), Nora moved in with her maternal grandmother. The only part of her old life that she kept was her first name. She hasn’t spoken to her dad in 26 years, but like clockwork, she receives a letter from him every week that she promptly discards.
Now a renowned surgeon, she lives her life on caffeine highs and nights alone, trying to forget her past. That is… until women start turning up murdered in the same style as her father’s… with their hands chopped off and missing. What’s worse is that they’re her patients. So who is suspect number 1? At least in the eyes of the police, seeing as how no one knows her real identity.
This book was definitely a mixture of what the women in my life are obsessed with (true crime and serial killers) mixed with a thriller that I couldn’t put down. So I can see why everyone I know is in love with her books!!!

The story kind of lost me with the amount of times her theory switched within one chapter. And how all the information came out at once at the end. It just felt too convenient and I wish there had been more hints throughout. Otherwise, good!
