Aside from the main character this book had a lot of potential. But I felt like a lot of the choices she made were just so horribly stupid it made her unlovable as a character.
Like even if you thought someone could be framing you
…the choices she was making made her look awful. Straight dumb and you’re supposed to be a doctor ma’am? I felt like I was yelling at her the entire book. The overall storyline is actually good if you can get over the personality of the main character.

Why am I reading these books that clearly aren’t for me?

My favourite Freida McFadden so far. This was a really fun time, very tense and fast paced and I read about two thirds of it in one day. I really enjoy serial killer thrillers, much more than domestic thrillers which is why I think this one worked really well for me, especially with the added copycat whodunnit which is always a good time.

At times I found the main character a little inconsistent, but I'm not reading a thriller for the character work so it really wasn't a big deal. Overall a very solid thriller that had me very invested, and one I would be quick to recommend.

This book was totally fine, there's nothing that stood out about it and it was short enough to digest very quickly.
Although, outside of describing the women that her father killed (dark hair, blue eyes) The only physical description she really gives of any other character are they were fat/they have a protruding stomach... So, when that's the only other description it definitely seems fatphobic.

***However, the audiobook narrator Shaina Summerville nearly made me stop listening to it. She used a very affected voice throughout the entire book, her reading of the men characters sounded sarcastic throughout the entire thing (when they weren't meant to be) and when she read for other women characters outside of the main character she sounded whiny and nasally. I felt like she was trying too hard to be a narrator when she just needs to relax and use her real voice. Finally, I just sped it up to get through but I will definitely skip any other audiobooks that I come across that are narrated by her.
