Why am I reading these books that clearly aren’t for me?

Loved it but the plot twist after the long build up wasn’t totally worth it

This was okay. The plot twist was really surprising but a bit far fetched, and I wish we got more flashbacks from her childhood. The story felt very rushed towards the end and needed more development.

The first part of the book is very intriguing. It started talking about the news on what Aaron Neirling had done. How the society see him as an upstanding citizen however a dead body and remnants of bones were found in the basement of their house and how this man is Nora’s father.

It’s a bomb to start a book like this. The first pages had me so compelled that I sat down and just read till 14% which is not what I do a lot for my first time reading a book.

It became more interesting when a detective came to ask Nora about how two of her patients end up dead with severed hands - a murder technique which was done by her father. She could not believe how this is happening and how it can be a coincidence that two of her own patients end up dead with the same description as how her father chose his murder victims.

I love how this book just play with my mind. It made me think at a lot of point that maybe Nora is losing her mind and she just doesn’t know she is indeed killing those victims without her realising. In the end, she had some realisation of who it might but it’s completely different from who it really is.

I would love to give this book 5 stars if the truth is not all at the end. I like The Housemaid more since it keeps on exposing things from the middle till the end. However this book only reveals everything at the end which is not really what I’m into.

Overall this book is a good read. I recommend this to anything who likes Psychological Thrillers.
